Today was insane for me. Chased between Aberfoyle and Eden Mills and got a severe storm which packed winds over 100km/h causing damage and power outages. The rain was blinding, everyone was pulling over, up to dime sized hail mixed in at times. The lightning was also very intense and set off a railway crossing despite no trains! What a great day!

Fun chase day! Set out slightly to late to get ahead of the big Aberfoyle/Erin cell but did get hit by it's intense rain as we dropped south to get out of it.

Headed south from Guelph down to Westover and snapped some cool shots of the storm. Captured some decent structure for a cell of that size including what appeared to be a nice shelf cloud moving over the 401. Got some great pics of the cumulus congestus from behind the storm.

Here's the album, also included a reflectivity/echo tops screen cap. Since I just joined it won't let me post a link but I've tried to stealth it out below :

It's public so it should work but let me know if not and I'll upload here.

First storm chase ever and it was great!

We had an amazing shelf cloud roll through KW with some CG's and brief heavy rain. Was at the LPGA and they evacuated the whole park about half an hour before the storm arrived. Never been in a storm evacuation before... they blew a horn and everything so thousands piled out on buses.

Upon reviewing my footage I have captured a lightning bolt hitting either a tree or hydro pole. Full chase video should be up in the next couple of days if everything goes smoothly.
