Nice severe tstorm this afternoon (Jul.19/2019)

Temps are up to 34C and 45C with the humidex. 'Nice front pushing through from the NW is trigger a set of thunderstorms. Constant thunder and frequent lightning, light winds.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

• Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region
• St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region

At 2:10 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Mount Elgin to 7 kilometres northwest of Port Dalhousie, moving southeast at 70 km/h.

Locations impacted include:
Simcoe, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, Norwich, Delhi, Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Smithville, Lincoln, Port Colborne, Welland, Scotland, Waterford, Port Dover, Ohsweken, Jarvis, Hagersville and Selkirk Provincial Park.
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

The cell that just went through middlesex had some good structure to it. The tornado warning was pretty justified,wall cloud traing to wrap up with rotating rain core and a nice mid level inflow line feeding in from the east and a visually apparent rfd cutting in. Still super hot and muggy after too, possible second round to come that could be even more intense!

So far it's been a VERY slow year! The last few years have been pretty slow actually.
