Environment canada has issued a tornado watch for most of southern ontario.
Included areas: Code:
9:50 AM EDT Wednesday 10 June 2015 Tornado watch in effect for: Bancroft - Bon Echo Park Barrie - Orillia - Midland City of Hamilton Dufferin - Innisfil Elgin Grey - Bruce Haliburton Halton - Peel Huron - Perth London - Middlesex Oxford - Brant Parry Sound - Muskoka Peterborough - Kawartha Lakes Sarnia - Lambton Waterloo - Wellington Windsor - Essex - Chatham-Kent York - Durham ************************************************************************************************* Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Scattered thunderstorms will affect portions of the above regions late this morning and this afternoon. It is possible that a few of these storms could produce an isolated tornado. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area, it is recommended you take the following actions: Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm. Just went through Midland, got really dicey for a few minutes, looked like 70-80km/h gusts lasted almost 5 minutes, also radar is showing rotation in many places, as well a possible hook forming just south of Wasaga beach heading to Barrie

Anyone in the kawartha's should be on high alert. two areas of developed rotation over lake simcoe that seem to be intensifying. this might get upgraded soon to a tornado warning.

Just got back from a quick damage survey of my area. I didn't take any pictures as i only had a minute to drive through it but there was a decent sized wind event here this morning, tonnes of downed mature trees, some as large as 1ft in diameter in the area west of midland in between the 11th and 12th conc. and Morning dove trail to hwy 93

Staff, CTV Barrie Published Wednesday, June 10, 2015 10:05AM EDT Last Updated Thursday, June 11, 2015 12:37PM EDT Environment Canada says they are not sending inspectors to Keswick to determine whether a funnel cloud touched down Wednesday afternoon. Meteorologist Geoff Coulson tells CTV News they haven’t been able to track down a path of notable damage from the storm, just some spotty, localized damage. Environment Canada said they did receive reports of a funnel cloud in the Keswick area between 5 and 6 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. It was during this time that a tornado warning was in effect for most of York Region and Durham Region.
