Looks like a patch of severe weather could hit us tommorow evening. There is a good level of shear present in the later hours as well as free convection. MLCAPE values are up but nothing crazy. I think around 7-10pm will be the hours to watch. I think most of the excitement will still be south of the border because of the short window of opportunity but fingers crossed anyway.

Here is the SPC's forcast for significant tornadoes for today, nothing crazy but it does cover a larger area. EC does mention the threat of a tornado east of georgian bay in their watch all the way to ottawa...hey wait i'm barely east of georgian bay... . i can see the wind shear today is already considerable and expected to increase as the system moves in. If the free convection numbers drop enough in the next 3-6 hours we could see some fun, particularly near collingwood and eastward.

Tornado warning for
Haliburton - Minden - Southern Haliburton County continued

At 5:00 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm that is capable of producing a tornado.

Storm spotters have reported a funnel cloud near Carnarvon and the thunderstorms is moving east at 65 km/h.

Communities in the path include: Haliburton.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.

Fenelon Falls - Balsam Lake Park - Northern Kawartha Lakes upgraded from Severe thunderstorm warning

At 5:20 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm that is producing a tornado.

Storm spotters have reported several thunderstorms producing tornados. The thunderstorms are tracking northeast at 65 km/h are located near Norland, Longford and northeast of Barrie.
