ive been keepin a bit of an eye on the cell south of sault st marie, that ones still in the US but its close to the border now, i'm a bit of a rookie to this and im probably mistaken but it almost looks to me as if that cell might be starting to get a hook, so i'm going to guess that cell is going to hit first, it may go just south of the islands though...

ok that posted as i was writing this i guess i was on to something lol hooray!

Stopped just south of Stratford waiting for something to fire straight to the west.... The suspense is killing me I just need a storm to go after I'm too late for the ones up north so hopefully something pops soon

I think someone got slapped hard for not forecasting the Godrich tornado, now EC is throwing out watches to better prepare people, some new mandate. I've never seen such a wide spread Tornado Watch.

They seem awfully confident of the upcoming situation. Tornado watches covering all of southern ontario and nothing even happening yet? ......hm... I don't want to jump the gun too much but it almost looks like an august 2 repeat in terms of setup

It seems EC is maybe trigger happy, but issuing these watches so early, and with the Goderich storm, plus the multiple tornado storm that hit around here last summer (Leamington, Harrow), maybe they don't want to miss out?????

Yet, me being in Windsor, am uncertain of what's transpiring, as the SPC has only had a slight risk area (not moderate - which kind of seem surprising reading their outlook), and as of 5:40pm no watches to speak of at all. This, coupled with WDIV's Chuck Gaidica even stating "if the storms fire up.....", makes me wonder if anything like happen at all.

I know the conditions seem very ripe for some big time storms to fire up, but with the NWS/SPC not even issuing a watch..... I trust them 99 times out of 100 over anything EC puts out. Heck, yesterday they had a forecast hi of 34 in Windsor, and then dropped it down to 31..... can't really trust them too much.

"An line of thunderstorms is expected to develop over Lake Huron then track rapidly eastward across Southern Ontario late this afternoon and this evening. The threat for storms will begin in areas near Lake Huron between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM <--uhhhh...it's 5:45>_>...then move eastward to reach a line from Eastern Lake Erie through the Golden Horseshoe to the upper Ottawa Valley by 8:00 PM."

From Lake Erie to the upper ottawa valley? *GASP* that'd be a huge line of stormsO_O
