I'm not sure how the rest of you guys 'n gals have been making out, but here in Niagara this has to be the most inactive season so far that I can remember.
We're almost in July and we've only had MAYBE a handful of small an weak thunderstorms. I guess the dry weather isn't helping matters. All the lawns are yellow. Hmph. ![]()

It's been slow in KW, but I've seen slower. It seems to go in bursts. One or two weeks with a few storms and then a month without. March had a bunch before the ice storm, and then there was maybe one or two in all of April. May had a few. June had a few (should be one tonight). I've noticed Welland getting more storms than St. Kitts.

I'd say sparse here. We've had a few waves come through, even one today. But nothing more than rain and 50-60kph gusts. one had a decent bit of lightning that woke me up the night but more so they are far and few between the norm for this time of year.

Yes, I'd say it seems a bit slower than the past for our area as well.
"St Kitts" - that's hilarious |

I guess he's never heard someone call St. Catherine's that. It was from you Darksky that I first heard it, from your summaries I think.
Anyway... Here's hoping tomorrow is busy! US SPC doesn't show a great threat here, but it's weird that their slight risk area just kind of stops at Windsor and rides along the border. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html We'll probably have to rely on lake breezes, and we know how that works. Fergus and north through Eastern Ontario will see the storms, as well as Woodstock, over to Goderich, pushing north and south from Kincardine down to Windsor. Those are the areas that I usually notice always getting hit, or getting hit more often than the rest. Let's see how it plays out! Maybe it'll be a bust again, or some puny little supercell will form at 7pm and die two hours later lol. I think what's worrying me most is the forecasted high of only 28C, which to me indicates many clouds instead of a nearly full afternoon of sun. The sun will show up, but I'm afraid of not enough.

Really? Maybe only people in St. Catharines/Niagara call it St. Kitts for short? I thought it was maybe common for Catherine or something and that it was widely used. Yah.. everyone here use St. Kitts for short. Quote:
