Default Slow Year...

Where are the storms? April was just a frozen nightmare. May had the wind storm across most areas, plus the preceding storms that day; June had the two tornados near Lake Erie, and July had last Monday. Everything has been in Northern and Eastern Ontario/Quebec.

No doubt this is the slowest year I've ever seen. Has anyone else found it exceptionally slow?

Not even for severe storms - but just storms in general. We've had VERY few thunderstorms this year. It's been hot, muggy/humid/sticky, but it just stays in the air. Total lack of sharp cold fronts to trigger the storms.

GRRR!

Maybe all this heat will warm up the lakes more and August will be a ripper this year

Manitoba and the Prairies have been way more exciting than Ontario the last few years. This was from a few days ago:

"Weather summary
for Manitoba
issued by Environment Canada
at 11:09 a.m. CDT Sunday 5 August 2018.

Discussion.

A preliminary rating of EF-3 has been assigned to the tornado that
went through the Alonsa, Silver Ridge, and Margaret Bruce Beach area
during the evening of Friday August 3 2018.

The investigation is ongoing and this preliminary rating may change
as more information becomes available.

If anyone has any additional information please email
[email address].

Please note that this summary may contain preliminary or unofficial
information and does not constitute a complete or final report.

End/PASPC"

Sadly, one death. And, it was on the ground for some time.

I think today (Aug 6) could generate some nice storms later in the day along the Huron shores. That push has been generating some severe storms in the States as it has moved east.
