This will provide you with a simple chart for understanding how to read meso-analysis. It also gives more detailed explanations, though some not as useful as others... http://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/mesoan...php?sector=16# This is a great chart to look at to check hourly updated meso-analysis. HRRR models(Take this with a grain of salt) http://rapidrefresh.noaa.gov/hrrrcon...Jun+2010+-+17Z http://weather.unisys.com/upper_air/skew/ Weather Balloon upper-air soundings (very accurate) nexrad http://www.wunderground.com/radar/map.asp Meso, hail, tornadic flags for cells. Speed, direction, VIL(vertically integrated liquid). As well as other advanced features for detecting potential wind threats and tornadic events using "Radial Velocity"

HRRR is hardly useful, it's just experimental future radar technology.

Indeed. That's why I said take it with a grain of salt. Although it can be surprisingly accurate 'sometimes'. Sometimes I notice in its composite future radar prediction where a cell pops up..a cell actually pops up in that area.
Like I said, take it with a grain of salt. Actually, a bag of salt.
