Default July 8th/9th

Just looking at a system thats heading our way from Michigan, severe potentials aren't too high yet but with the clear swath ahead of the storm, moderate rotating potentials (still forcast less than 2% at the moment) and the temperatures we've been seeing, I wouldn't be surprised if that system intensifies for some late afternoon or evening severe weather. there are a few pop ups ahead of the front aswell that are just starting to organize over western lake huron heading northeast.

The next two days afterwards the forcast potentials creep closer and closer to southern ontario. will they become anything? im still on the fence...one can only hope

Warnings up:

Code:
Warnings
Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
2:34 PM EDT Monday 08 July 2013
Severe thunderstorm warning for
Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale issued

At 2:30 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a slow moving cluster of severe thunderstorms with very heavy downpours capable of producing localized flooding.

Communities in the path include: Angus and Barrie

A weather watcher reported 50 mm of rain in 30 minutes in the Angus area.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Local downpours can cause flash floods.

Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow fast moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely. Stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca.

Updated or ended by 3:40 PM EDT.

Decent lawn watering here in South Barrie. few rumbles, etc.

I'm watching whats coming across Huron right now. Wonder if it will have enough staying power?

hard to say, i think the cell by stratford still has some potential over the next two hours and the band of t-storms near detroit might have a chance, but beyond that i think the cloud cover is getting too thick and killing the convective potentials as the day goes on. i hope all that rain clears out really early by tommorrow morning
