Photos June 09, 2004 - Severe Thunderstorm

This system caused a fatality when a man was killed during microburst in severe storm from fallen tree a few kms west of the tornado track
14:30 30,000 Towering cumulus grew to dark ominous clouds. Severe T-Storm watch. Only minimal thunder.
16:00 40,000 The next thunderstorm at 4pm produced pretty strong winds, rain, very close lightning/thunder, and pea-sized hail.
22:40 30,000 Minimal thunder.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING ENDED FOR: SARNIA - PETROLIA - WESTERN LAMBTON COUNTY WATFORD - THE PINERY PARK - EASTERN LAMBTON COUNTY PICKERING - OSHAWA - SOUTHERN DURHAM REGION.

==DISCUSSION==

A LARGE AREA OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS ROARING ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO EXTENDING FROM NIAGARA TO LONDON THEN SOUTHWEST TO RONDEAU INTO WESTERN LAKE ERIE.

ANOTHER AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS IS AFFECTING EASTERN ONTARIO IN REGIONS FROM THE COBOURG AREA EAST TO BROCKVILLE.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS GIVING 50 TO 100 MM OF RAIN OR MORE..WIND GUSTS OF 110 KM/H..INTENSE LIGHTNING
AND 2 CM HAIL.

WEATHER RADAR SUGGESTS LOCAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 150 MM IN THE PAST 2 HOURS IN SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS.

THIS IS A WARNING THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. REMEMBER SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE TORNADOES..LISTEN FOR UPDATED WARNINGS. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ONTARIO RECOMMENDS TAKING COVER IMMEDIATELY WHEN THREATENING WEATHER
APPROACHES.
