At 125am EDT Environment Canada sent out this bulletin, doesn't specify what warning it is or where it is for.

SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN
ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA
AT 1:25 AM EDT WEDNESDAY 8 JUNE 2011.

AT 1:20 AM WEATHER RADAR SHOWS AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM OVER THE
NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE CITY OF HAMILTON.  ROTATION SHOWING ON THE
RADAR AND A SPOTTER REPORT INDICATES THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A
TORNADO WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM.  THE THUNDERSTORM IS HEADING
SOUTHWARD AT 60 KM/H.

At 148am EDT, 23 minutes later, Environment Canada corrects the warning so it gets issued, but by now the storm isn't even in Hamilton.

WATCHES/WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHERN ONTARIO...

TORNADO WARNING FOR:
=NEW= CITY OF HAMILTON.

     AT 1:30 AM WEATHER RADAR SHOWS AN INTENSE THUNDERSTORM OVER THE
     CITY OF HAMILTON.  A SPOTTER REPORTED A POTENTIAL TORNADO AND
     THE RADAR IS INDICATING SAME.  THE INTENSE THUNDERSTORM IS
     MOVING SOUTHWARD AT 50 KM/H.

Also, I have CHCH on, which is the only tv station in Ontario who have signed up for the new emergency alert system, and they haven't even broadcast the warning.

I tell ya, this is just getting ridiculous. Also, I'm listening to the scanner out of Hamilton and there are multiple reports of damage.

I was excited for this site when I first stumbled across it. A better name for it would be www.bashEC.com. Maybe that will explain why there are only 42 active members.......

They corrected their Tornado warning when the storm isn't even in Hamilton. Should they be applauded for this?

Perhaps if our officials and weather service could do things right and professional we wouldn't have to complain about them.

A tornado at night in a major metro is a very serious and life threatening situation. There is no excuse for taking 23 minutes to fix the tornado warning message in a situation like this. It wasn't even sent through the first time because no area was specified. The bulletin probably just sat on Environment Canada's computer and they took no care to even double check it was in order.

THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO HAS ISSUED A RED ALERT

DUE TO A TORNADO WARNING IN THE CITY OF HAMILTON.
Emergency Situation: Environment Canada has issued a Tornado Warning in an area described as THE CITY OF HAMILTON

Recommended Actions: Emergency Management Ontario recommends that persons in the area described above IMMEDIATELY shelter. Everyone in this area should immediately move indoors, and away from doors and windows, preferably into a basement area if that is possible. Do not pick up family members from schools, daycares and institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes. Plans are in place to protect them. People currently outside this area are advised not to enter this area until further notice. If it is safe to do so, pets and livestock should be removed quickly from outside. Do not call 911 for information about this emergency.

This will end at 0300 Hrs, unless a further extension is requested.

 90 KM/H ARE THE MAIN THREATS.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THE AREA.
 THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WINDS OR HEAVY
 RAINFALL.  REMEMBER THAT SOME SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN ALSO PRODUCE
 TORNADOES.

MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TAKE IMMEDIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IF
