sorry, didn't see your post until after I just posted. Keeping track of these ones. One looked like it was over 50,000.
Presently securing all of the kids toys and lawn furniture.

We didn't get as intense of a storm here. I live in SW Barrie and other than rumbling thunder and some good downpours, nothing else. Maybe later on today?

Over 40 poles are reported to have come down this afternoon. Yes, that was a strong storm, but could it be that the shape/age of these poles was a factor? Latest report now on the 9th Line Essa, wires down.

When I was watching that cell from the Buffalo nexrad site I looked at the radial velocity and at 0.5 and 1.45 deg elevation I thought I saw about 15 minutes worth of mild rotation around the center of that system. however as the storm passed over, the system (IMO) looked like it started to create a bow echo which could be signs of a downburst. I'm trying to track down the images now, hopefully I can find them...I believe the weather was occurring around 1:50pm
here is the radar at the time with my estimates of what was going on... ![]() Last edited by tice23; 05-21-2013 at 10:24 PM. Reason: Time accuracy and slight error in my memory + minor spelling + radar pic |
