Tornado warning for
Haliburton - Minden - Southern Haliburton County continued

At 5:00 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm that is capable of producing a tornado.

Storm spotters have reported a funnel cloud near Carnarvon and the thunderstorms is moving east at 65 km/h.

Communities in the path include: Haliburton.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.

At 5:20 pm EDT, meteorologists are tracking a very dangerous thunderstorm that is producing a tornado.

Storm spotters have reported several thunderstorms producing tornados. The thunderstorms are tracking northeast at 65 km/h are located near Norland, Longford and northeast of Barrie.

Storm spotters have reported a funnel cloud with one of these thunderstorms. The thunderstorms are moving east at 65 km/h and are located east of Haliburton and southeast of Whitney.

Communities in the path include: Maynooth and Barry's Bay.

Quite an active afternoon/evening. Driving home from Toronto I watched the supercell near lake simcoe back build and overshoot the anvil. that storm still showing signs of rotation approaching peterborough. The storm heading towards Calabogie has some strong rotation and is showing a nice comma shape.

Here are the tornado warned cells bound for Halliburton as they passed just south of Midland around 4:45pm before they were mature cells.

Tornado/Funnel forming in Orillia today just behind Target the cameraman says.
It's alittle long in the building up to it, but it does create a nice funnel, hard to tell if it touched ground or not.
