Thank you Dave for your corrections, I couldn't agree less. You people are going to see some great storms tonight and an amazing lightning show.

MDT risk for severe tomorrow (Thursday) for OH PA and NY when the cold front catches up to that warm front.

Parts of southern Ontario included in the SLGT risk.

Current Day 1 outlook just upgraded severe wind probability for southewestern Ontario. An MCS perhaps initial stages of a derecho?

Special weather statement from KBUF at 8:15pm

Quote:
A COMPLEX OF THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER THE UPPER GREAT LAKES
THIS EVENING WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST OVERNIGHT AND PUSH ACROSS THE
WESTERN COUNTIES OF NEW YORK AFTER 2 AM. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
PART OF AN INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE...MOISTURE RICH AIRMASS THAT
WILL SUPPORT VIGOROUS UPDRAFTS...LEADING TO A HEIGHTENED THREAT
FOR SEVERE WEATHER.

THE GREATEST THREAT WILL BE IN THE FORM OF DAMAGING THUNDERSTORM
WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...ALONG WITH VERY FREQUENT CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING. THERE IS EVEN THE RISK OF AN ACTUAL DERECHO
MOVING THROUGH THE REGION...WHICH COULD EASILY PRODUCE WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 70 MPH.

THE STRONGER STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS...
WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLOODING IN POOR
DRAINAGE AREAS...PARTICULARLY IN URBAN AREAS.

THE HIGHEST CHANCE FOR THE STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
OVER THE FAR WESTERN COUNTIES BETWEEN 2 AM AND 5 AM EDT.

Looks like a derecho may form after all. What's over MI right now looking very impressive. Looks like it could be the first real derecho event for ON since 2006.

Sure looks like its going to hit us. Batten down the hatches and be ready for potential power outages.
