Default Dec 15, 2010 London Snowstorm

These shots were taken around 2-3 am. Intense snowfall sent cleanup crews into a scramble, though the event did not last long it was the most intense snowfall for a given period of time I think for London this year. Almost half a foot of snow on my car in about 45 minutes! The snow was so high on the uncleared side roads it was spilling up over my hood and the snow clogged something almost causing my engine to overheat if I had the heater on. Radiator? I'm not a car guy ....

These shots are around 2AM

Long exposure shot from the car trying to show what visibility was really like

check out the uncleared portion of road, it was plowed a few hours earlier....

Thanks, Itchy. I just passed through London again yesterday on the train... and my goodness. On the eastern side of the city, there was compacted snow of at least five feet. Fences, windows, posts, etc were all buried. Phenomenal.

Thanks! There is so much London is using dump trucks to take it elsewhere and there was talk at one point of renting a snow melting machine.

I remember when I was going to school at Mohawk in Hamilton about 10yrs ago they were doing that - had to use a fleet of dump trucks to take the snow out of the city core. The plows were putting it onto the sidewalks and there was no room for people!
