Default Rain Event Overnight Tonight

Up to 50mm in places. TWN is calling for tstorms and 40-50mm of rain here in Waterloo.

EC is calling for 20 to 30mm and a thunderstorm overnight.

I like TWN's forecast better.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER ILLINOIS THIS AFTERNOON WILL MOVE TOWARDS
SOUTHERN ONTARIO TONIGHT. RAIN AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM WILL BECOME
HEAVY TONIGHT AND CONTINUE THURSDAY MORNING.
PRESENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL REACH 30 TO
40 MM WITH LOCAL 50 POSSIBLE AS RAIN COULD BE ACCOMPANIED BY
THUNDERSTORMS.
IN ADDITION FOG IS LIKELY TO DEVELOP OVERNIGHT IN MANY AREAS AS
WELL.

Feels like we've already had that much rain here in northern Niagara just from this evening! It was pouring for hours on end, with a steady hard rain since early evening. I guess the upside of it, is it should get all the leaves out on the trees.

A few trees around here are already starting to bloom (buds came out last week). Maybe with all this water they're sucking up it'll help get those leaves pushed out nice and green and we can say goodbye to grey winter.

15.8mm of rain has fallen here so far. Looks like more coming on radar.
