UPDATED WEATHER SUMMARY FOR SOUTHERN ONTARIO AND THE
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA
AT 6:57 A.M. EST TUESDAY 25 NOVEMBER 2014.

RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES AND VERY STRONG WIND GUSTS TODAY.

A DEEP LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ORIGINATING IN TEXAS TRACKED THROUGH
NORTHEASTERN ONTARIO TO NORTHERN QUEBEC MONDAY. SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW BROUGHT AN UNSEASONABLY WARM AIR MASS TO
SOUTHERN ONTARIO. SEVERAL NEW HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE SET IN
THE GOLDEN HORSESHOE AND EASTERN ONTARIO. IN FACT, TEMPERATURES AT
CORNWALL PEAKED AT AN ALMOST SUMMERLIKE 21 C, SIMILAR TO NEARBY
MASSENA IN NEW YORK STATE AND ST. ANICET IN THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC.

THIS FALL STORM WAS ALSO ACCOMPANIED BY VERY STRONG WINDS
WITH GUSTS OF 90 TO 100 KM/H MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
DOWNED LIMBS, TREES AND POWER LINES, AS WELL AS SOME DAMAGE TO
STRUCTURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED. HYDRO ONE IS REPORTING THAT OVER
67,000 CUSTOMERS REMAIN WITHOUT POWER AS OF 6.30 AM.

THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES AND WIND
GUSTS OF 80 KILOMETRES PER HOUR OR MORE RECEIVED BY ENVIRONMENT
CANADA AS OF 6.30 AM.
