Goderich F3 tornado - August 21, 2011

There are reports a tornado touched down in the Goderich area.

Witnesses have also told CTV News the storm produced golf-ball sized hail, and a number of houses have been damaged.

OPP Sgt. Dave Rektor is reporting several injuries, although they do not believe any are serious.

The Knights of Columbus Community Hall located at 390 Parsons Court in Goderich is opening its doors to residents in need of shelter.

The tornado warning has ended as of about 5 P.M.

Severe weather rips roofs off buildings in Goderich:
GODERICH—Provincial police have halted traffic into Goderich after a possible tornado Sunday afternoon caused injuries and ripped the tops off buildings.
The general manager of radio station CKNX, John Weese, lives in Goderich and said the town “looks like a war zone,” according to the radio station’s website.
