THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION
ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA TORONTO
 AT 12:24 PM EDT SUNDAY 18 JULY 2010.

==WEATHER EVENT DISCUSSION==

SCATTERED SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS A WIDE SWATH OF SOUTHERN AND
EASTERN ONTARIO ON SATURDAY.
-------------------------------------------------------------

A COLD FRONT CROSSED SOUTHERN AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF ONTARIO
SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING, TRIGGERING SEVERAL CLUSTERS OF
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. THERE WERE SEVERAL REPORTS OF HAIL AND HEAVY
RAIN AND STRONG WINDS.
THERE WAS A SIGHTING OF A FUNNEL CLOUD NEAR BERWICK. HOWEVER,
ENVIRONMENT CANADA DAMGE SURVEY TEAM HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE DOWNED
TREES WERE NOT CAUSED BY A TORNADO.
THE FOLLOWING ARE A FEW OF THE MORE SIGNIFICANT PRELIMINARY REPORTS.
