Tornado warning for
Renfrew - Arnprior - Calabogie upgraded from Severe thunderstorm warning

At 5:40 PM EDT radar indicates a possible tornado near Renfrew moving to the east at 40 km/h.

Severe thunderstorms likely producing tornadoes are imminent or occurring in the area. Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall may also accompany these storms.

Emergency management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening weather approaches.

It appeared at least on radar the "tornadic" cell was at it strongest after it passed east and into Quebec. So if any additional info on this cell emerges with or without tornadoes it will likely be in the Shawville Region of Quebec.

Have been seeing lightning flashes from the storms over and south of lake erie for several hours now. Heat lightning, where you see where you see a blue flash in a clear night sky. The show must be quite impressive along the lake shore.

I was watching the lightning as well, quite something. Regarding the tornado warnings in S. Quebec. I captured many doppler images from the potential tornadoes. Radar indicated strong rotation with the possible tornadic damage near Mirabel. Will have to see what gets confirmed. There was also a textbook hook echo with the first tornado warning in Southern Quebec, even some strong rotation on the Renfrew storm.

Got some few cellphone shots of the storm here over Aylmer, Qc. Looked good, but no noticeable rotation from where I was.
