did you get a chance to go to crystal beach? i got out and met Mark Robinson from TWN down there too. there was quite the wind and wave show happening! it was great. the lake spray felt like ice pellets on my face, but it was good times. sad to see the winds dying down a bit now.

Yeah, the surf was pretty wild. I got some decent shots of it standing on the roof of my truck but MAN was that wind cold haha.

We had one crack of thunder last night!

Also for the record...is anyone else just tired of these fatal tornadoes? I've been chair chasing my way through American tornado seasons since 2003, and quite frankly 2011/2012 have been sickening. Seemed like it took only minutes after "kickoff" yesterday for the tornadoes to start obliterating towns. As the line of supercells was approaching Louisville and Cincinatti I thought I was going to be sick. Thank goodness both those metros were spared, but the unsuspecting eastern Kentucky got slammed like they have never seen. Most of those counties have only had 1-5 tornadoes in 62 years. Seeing that line of supercells with couplets passing over towns with massive debris balls on radar... It was a different and depressing experience. Last I heard 16 people were confirmed dead so far in eastern Kentucky. The last year has been just unreal. Tornadoes only kill a couple dozen people a year in the United States. Last year was 550 people I believe, the 4th deadliest on record and most deadliest since 1950, and this year is already approaching 100.

Turns out there was quite a bit of damage in Niagara last night. Some photos are here:

Shingles off neighbors' houses were scattered about out front.
