Default Friday Nov 1, 2013 -one dead in Niagara wind storm

Major wind storm expected for southern Ontario and Quebec Friday.

Quote:
It appears at this point that winds will gust above 80 km/h over much of southern Ontario and may reach close to 100 km/h along the Lake Erie and Ontario shorelines.

This would be enough to cause some tree damage and power outages, especially in older neighbourhoods where leaves still remain on trees.

An even greater threat for damage exists farther east, especially around Montreal.

Wind gusts may reach hurricane force (120 km/h) on Friday.

I moved to St Catharines from Oshawa a month ago. Called back to my family in Oshawa and they said there's barely any wind.

Here in St Catharines though, it got very windy from 10:30-11:00 but has slowly been dieing down since. Was making a lot of noise...I love the rush of wind and the sound it makes against the trees.
