Every media source says something different about where the damage was and if there are any unconfirmed tornadoes. There needs to be a severe weather summary -- I don't know who to believe any more!

Here's an early report from EC.

"Funnel clouds were reported however, in Mildmay and Nairn as the initial storms came ashore. A tornado may also have touched down between Parkhill and Lucan, damaging hydro lines and ripping through a campground."

"The same cell produced baseball-sized hail that shattered car windows in Kettle Point."

"A wind gust of 93 km/h was recorded at the Hamilton Airport. Widespread tree damage in Burlington was also reported, although it was unclear if it was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.

At one point, more than 25,000 Hydro One customers in southern Ontario were without power."

The lightning show was epic. This was about ten minutes before the tornado warning went out for Waterloo Region.

Power got knocked out here last night. 'Going through my photos now.

GREAT lightning and heavy rain, but not much else. The cloud formations looked awesome though from what I saw when they were illuminated. Winds were gusty sure, the main threat from this storm was lightning.

Tornadoes in London, but no major storm damage reported here: Updated

At least four tornadoes were reported in the London area Wednesday night, but as of 11:15 p.m. there were no reports of major storm damage in the St. Catharines area.
In Niagara, tornado warnings threatened the area until after 11 p.m. but there were no major problems reported.

I just had a chance to look at radar loops from last night.....when that storm was coming off the bottomof lake huron that had the tor. sig. I thought it was weakening but it was just morphing to eventually become part of the line that formed.....I was around Ailsa Craig but not until the meat of the storm had passed by.

It's so hard to decide where to go in that situation, between reading maps to pick routes, checking radar scans from kdtx/exeter radar and driving......I thought that storm would have moved way faster, and held together in the state it was in over the lake when it made landfall. man was i ever excited when i saw the tornado signature on that baby.

As it was I tried to stay ahead of it coming southbound from exeter get to the southwest side of it as it came ashore. It looked like I overshot it as a really thick precip core now looked to be back where I came from. so I turned back around and chased it, thinking I would lose the storm if I didn't, not realizing what was happening in the big picture.

Had I just held my ground I would have been in a good spot, but I didn't want to take the chance of being caught in a tornadic storm with that much precip.

Just goes to show how tricky it is to be in a good spot on days like yesterday....I know i did the safe thing which would have landed me the best shot at seeing a tube had things stayed the same, but man I would have liked to have been nailed by some strong winds or hail.

Like I said in my earlier post the lightning show following the backside of the line was worth the trip, or i might've been grumpy today lol

I was up in Northern Ontario to catch the brunt of the system that came through up there. Grabbed lunch before leaving my hotel and the weather channel was tossing out all sorts of warnings (Thunderstorm, tornado, etc). Driving along highway 11 it was spectacular with the variances in the weather for the storm I was under ... a ton of water as well, trucks were pushing water over my roof when they passed me.

Stopped at the corner store around Driftwood (highway 11 and 655), came out of the washroom to everyone running around the store ... convinced it was a tornado, but it was just one really giant cloud. Continued on to Timmins along 655, stopped about 10km down the road to snap a few photos of the cloud in the distance and I am convinced I saw a funnel cloud, it looked like a finger coming out of the sky and a few seconds later it was gone. 75% of my photos turned out fairly blurry, but the camera i had was trying to autofocus everything (need that for work). Any recommendations on a good camera for catching storm activity? Specifically lightning?

Made it to Timmins finally, watched the dark clouds roll all around the city and then it was gone, a little rain over night and that about sums it up. Speaking to a friend on the other side of lake erie, around Cleveland they were bracing hard around midnight but all they had was a lot of rain and some lighting/thunder.
