[this post will be edited as more information comes in]
* Recorded wind speeds of 124 km/hr (in Niagara) - localized winds were likely higher. * 2 confirmed deaths in Niagara - Grimsby man killed by flying garage door, St. Catharines man killed when falling tree crushed him in his car (he was taken to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries a couple days later) * Skyway Bridge in St. Catharines closed after tractor trailer flipped over from winds. * Lockview Public School in St. Catharines had large portion of roof blown off - pieces of it found up to 2 blocks away. * Many buildings had their sidings and/or shingles stripped off, and many were missing entire sections of roof. Sights like this and this were very common. * Power out to large sections of St. Catharines. Some areas without power for over 3 days. From my vantage point on the 3rd floor of an office building, I saw a flag pole get blown down. Our 'smoke deck' was closed off today due to a large piece of metal (I was told that it was from an A/C unit) came flying down 6 floors to land on our deck. Thankfully no one was injured. A co-worker was showing me pics of his drive in to work... trees down everywhere. Also a friend messaged me saying that a power line went down right behind her and she felt the vibration of the electricity from inside the car.
Im hoping that I return home to minimal damage... Wondering if I will see Dorothy and Toto on the way home?? lol |

My Neighbours fence got messed up. All the posts snaped and my dad had to use anchors to get them back up. Also we had very strong winds with a thunderstorm early this morning then another with some rain arond 1030 that sprayed in my class at school. Also there are some trees down in the city. Power out in stoney creek too
