Oh my god this is horrible. I hope everyone in Goderich is okay. Looks like Goderich isn't Canada's prettiest town anymore.

F3 tornado confirmed. One fatality confirmed by Environment Canada. News conference in 25 minutes on CP24.

 AT 9:35 PM EDT SUNDAY 21 AUGUST 2011.

 ==WEATHER EVENT DISCUSSION==

A VERY DYNAMIC SERIES OF THUNDERSTORMS FORMED OVER SOUTHERN ONTARIO
 SUNDAY AFTERNOON. THERE WERE SEVERAL REPORTS OF TORRENTIAL
 DOWNPOURS, LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER SEVERAL AREAS
 EXTENDING FROM GODERICH THROUGH THE GREATER TORONTO AREA AND EAST
 TOWARDS THE ST LAWRENCE RIVER.

THE ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE REPORTED A POTENTIAL TORNADO TOUCHDOWN
 OVER GODERICH AROUND 4 PM SUNDAY.  WITH THE HELP OF LOCAL EMERGENCY
 PERSONNEL, AN ENVIRONMENT CANADA DAMAGE SURVEY TEAM HAS DONE AN
 INITIAL ASSESSMENT OF THE DAMAGE IN GODERICH AND HAS CONFIRMED THAT A
 TORNADO DID INDEED TRACK THROUGH THE TOWN.  AT THIS TIME, THE
 TORNADO HAS BEEN RATED A HIGH END FUJITA SCALE TWO (WINDS UP
 TO 240 KM/H) OR LOW END FUJITA SCALE THREE (WINDS NEAR 250 KM/H).
 THE SURVEY TEAM HAS REPORTED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO DOWNTOWN GODERICH
 INCLUDING STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO BUILDINGS, ROOFS REMOVED, NUMEROUS
 VEHICLES OVERTURNED AND TREES DOWN.  THERE IS ONE REPORTED FATALITY,
 AND A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH UNKNOWN INJURIES.

ENVIRONMENT CANADA WILL SEND AN ADDITONAL DAMAGE SURVEY TEAM TO THE
 AREA MONDAY TO WORK IN TANDEM WITH THE TEAM ALREADY PRESENT. THEY
 WILL CONTINUE TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE TO REFINE THE FUJITA SCALE
 RATING OF THE TORNADO AS WELL DOCUMENT THE LENGTH AND WIDTH OF THE
 TRACK.

THERE WAS ALSO REPORT OF DAMAGE IN GANANOQUE WHICH OCCURED AROUND
 12:45 PM SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE REPORTS OF DAMAGE RECEIVED BY
 ENVIRONMENT CANADA AS OF 4:30 PM SUNDAY.

"ENVIRONMENT CANADA HAS CONFIRMED THAT, AT APPROXIMATELY 4:00 PM
SUNDAY, A TORNADO TRACKED FROM THE LAKE HURON SHORELINE THROUGH
GODERICH AND SOUTHEASTWARD TO JUST EAST OF SUMMERHILL. A SURVEY TEAM
HAS DONE AN ASSESSMENT OF THE DAMAGE AND HAS RATED THE TORNADO AS
FUJITA SCALE THREE, WITH WINDS ESTIMATED AT 280 KM/H. THE LENGTH OF
THE TORNADO TRACK WAS APPROXIMATELY 20 KM, WITH A WIDTH THAT VARIED
FROM ABOUT 500 M IN GODERICH TO LESS THAN 200 M FURTHER SOUTHEAST.
THE SURVEY TEAM HAS REPORTED THE MOST EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IN DOWNTOWN
GODERICH, INCLUDING STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO BUILDINGS, ROOFS REMOVED,

 MULTIPLE VEHICLES OVERTURNED AND DESTROYED AND NUMEROUS TREES DOWN.
 THERE IS ONE REPORTED FATALITY AND APPROXIMATELY 40 INJURIES. THE
 LAST CONFIRMED FUJITA SCALE THREE TORNADO TO OCCUR IN ONTARIO WAS ON
 APRIL 20TH, 1996 WHEN TWO FUJITA SCALE THREE TORNADOES OCCURED (ONE
 FROM WILLIAMSFORD TO BLANTYRE, THE OTHER FROM ARTHUR TO VIOLET  HILL).

ELSEWHERE OVER SOUTHERN ONTARIO ON SUNDAY, THERE WERE ALSO REPORTS
 OF TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS, LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER SEVERAL
 AREAS EXTENDING FROM GODERICH THROUGH THE GREATER TORONTO AREA AND
 EAST TOWARDS THE ST LAWRENCE RIVER. REPORTS OF DAMAGE IN GANANOQUE
