Discussion.
A line of thunderstorms raced east across Southern and Northeastern
Ontario Thursday. They brought strong winds, heavy downpours and
frequent lightning to many areas, along with pea to marble sized
hail in a few localities.
Reports of strong winds and thunderstorm related damage are listed
below.
Location and Report
London Airport 81 km/h wind gust near 3.15 PM Thursday.
In Perth County 3.30 to 4.00 PM Thursday there were several reports
of damage as follows:
Sebringville area trees down.
Milverton area barn damaged.
South of Stratford trees and hydro poles down.
Sudbury Airport 100 km/h wind gust near 4.48 PM Thursday.
Sudbury Area trees and power lines down. Power outages affecting
over 20000 customers. A camper van was flipped on its side in
Chelmsford.
