Default September 5th - Christian Island EF0 (zero) - 18th of the season

Code:
Environment Canada has continued to investigate the damage that
occurred from severe thunderstorms between Georgian Bay and Lake
Simcoe on September 5.

In addition to downburst damage in Orillia, one tornado was confirmed in Udney, Ramara township at 6:45 PM. There was also damage from a storm earlier that day on Christian Island, northwest of Midland.

Discussion with representatives of Beausoleil first nation has led
Environment Canada to believe that a tornado impacted the island
around 2 PM. The tornado is being rated as an enhanced Fujita scale
zero (efzero) tornado with winds of at least 90 kilometres per hour.

This now brings the total count of tornadoes in Ontario this year to
18.
