Re: Nov. 13/14/15 - snowfall

Was snowing a bit here in KW from the band that formed last night. Went to bed and woke up to a very light snowfall out there right now as well. Will be interesting to see how much we get when all is...

Re: Southern Ontario Weather Website

Thank you! It's nice to be back. :)

If you're interested, those three blogs all have their own strengths which might be worth thinking about too. Rob's is the easiest to search through because of...

Re: Southern Ontario Weather Website

I know this isn't the point of your website, but I will say that there does seem to be a gap here in Southern Ontario for frequent, detailed, non-technical weather forecasting and analysis in blog...

June 1, 1986 - Saskatoon tornadoes

I found this vivid recollection of a largely forgotten Canadian tornado event (probably because there was no deaths or major injuries). I've posted it below for ease, but here's a link to the blog I...

Re: Open chit-chat thread - no weather talk :)

So, I won't be moving to Toronto this summer after all. I was operating under a misunderstanding - I won't go into it in detail, but basically I thought you had to be in Ontario to get into this...

Re: April 18, 2013

Cool that the tornado's made weather history for being the first in Canada to be rated with the EF scale... Goes to show how out of the loop I've been though - I knew that EC was considering making...

Re: New E.C. layout

Agreed - I definitely like the new warnings page! And the site in general.

Re: Winnipeg - deep snow

Another post by Rob on the exceptionally late spring this year in the prairies:

It's looking like 2013 will be...

Re: Winnipeg - deep snow

Even though I'm living in England, I keep tabs on the weather back at home in both southern Manitoba and southern Ontario. Well, Winnipeg still had a snowpack of around 37 cm as of yesterday morning...

Re: Sun. Apr.7/13 - WARM!

Envious! The temperatures here have been slooowly climbing back up. We got close to 10 C yesterday and should finally go over in the days ahead. Otherwise, it's been well below average for England...

Re: Open chit-chat thread - no weather talk :)

So, as some of you know, I'm living in England and planning to return to Ontario by this summer. I was hoping to move in June (in time for the height of thunderstorm season), and had a subletted...

Winnipeg - deep snow

Winnipeg has perhaps its deepest snowpack since 1997.

http://robsobsblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/storm-summary.html

Incidentally, Rob's Blog is one of my very favourite weather blogs. He doesn't...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

Me too! I'd love to be back in time for most of thunderstorm season at least, but it's out of my hands. :P

The weather today is best described as *murky*. Damp and cloudy with mist and fog all day...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

Still waiting for my husband's Permanent Residency application to get approved. It can take a long time (months) and we sent it back in November. I'm still hoping for a May/June time frame but we'll...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

Absolutely gorgeous day today. Highs of 14 C, just a gentle breeze, wall-to-wall hazy sunshine, flowers blooming. Not a speck of cloud in the sky. People take advantage of days like this in England...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

Not much to update about the weather here in England lately. We got "remarried" on February 9th so that friends and family here could attend their own ceremony, something we'd been planning to do for...

Re: Cold!

When I lived in Winnipeg, I used to catch a bus that took about 40-45 minutes to get me downtown rather than one that took about 20 minutes.... because the stop for the 20-minute bus was about a 7...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

Since I posted, it has indeed gotten a lot colder here in England. Highs are only a degree or two above 0 C, with sub-zero nightly lows. I believe later in the week and possibly into next week we...

Re: Open chit-chat thread

The weather's been dull and dreary in England lately. We had a lot of rain starting about a week before Christmas and leading up to New Year's Eve. Since then, the "tap" seems to have finally shut...

Re: December 26-27 Winter Storm

Montreal sure got walloped by this system. With 45 cm of snow, this storm broke their previous all-time record of 43.2 cm set way back on March 4, 1971. (Got these figures from TWN website.)

Re: Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! And I hope it does - though to be honest, after living in a temperate oceanic climate for two years, even a weak storm season is going to be cool.

But I hope it's a good one too!...

Re: "Toronto's Winter of 2040 Should Be a Nice One"

I did think that the predicted temperature changes were a *little* extreme. ;) Especially for only a 30-year time frame.

Not so keen on the idea of less snow by the way, which they tout as a plus...
