Nice severe tstorm this afternoon (Jul.19/2019)

Temps are up to 34C and 45C with the humidex. 'Nice front pushing through from the NW is trigger a set of thunderstorms. Constant thunder and frequent lightning, light winds.

Heavy downpours on the drive in to work this morning at about 6:15am. More rain off and on.... 'under a severe tstorm watch, but not much beyond that :(

Not even for severe storms - but just storms in general. We've had VERY few thunderstorms this year. It's been hot, muggy/humid/sticky, but it just stays in the air. Total lack of sharp cold...

Not much in the north-end of St. Catharines here... dark clouds, rain, gusty winds. :(

I was watching it approach on radar and it seemed to have a big line that split right as it came near.

Winds here in St. Catharines right now are very high. Almost all the street lights at intersections were out on my drive home from work. Tree branches down.

I can only imagine what it would have...

As said above ^^, southern Niagara is pretty flat and also rural.

Northern Niagara (where I am) Is *TERRIBLE* for chasing. Hilly, lots of urban areas, congested roads.

We've had lots of thunderstorms in my area this year, but all have been relatively weak. Hopefully we'll get some strong ones soon!

We had some thunder/lightning later in the evening but the cell that passed us wasn't much. On radar I noticed a better looking cell over near the London area at the same time.
