London Thunderstorms

This question has been puzzling me for a while. Why does London get so many thunderstorms? It seems every time there is a storm nearby, it will change it's direction to move over the city. Is it just the lake breezes or are there other factors as well?

Also, is it just me, or is Kitchener just immune to most severe thunderstorms? Whenever one approaches, it will weaken and then restrengthen over Cambridge.

I could say the same for Windsor...seems Michigan can get hit good, but as the storm crosses the Detroit River it either weakens or splits into two seperate storms and going around Windsor.

Same here. The storms always seem to miss or be weak in/near Sturgeon Falls, but then gets stronger in North Bay. I guess it's because of Lake Nipissing...
